Terrorism is a criminal act that influences an audience beyond the immediate victim. The terrorists plan their attack to obtain great publicity and choosing targets that symbolize what they oppose. We will always remember September 11, 2001. Most of us can remember our locations on this horrific Tuesday morning as we witnessed the second plane hit the South Tower. We felt vulnerable and grieved as we tried to piece the puzzle of this horrendous catastrophe we wondered who was to blame for this attack. Many of us still don’t feel safe. What is the root of such hatred? Our lives changed instantaneously the deaths of adults who were killed in the attacks or died in rescue operations resulted in over 3,000 children losing a parent. Many of us turned to God for comfort and guidance but once the dust was settled we became fully aware of what had taken place and we became angry. We suffered collectively as a country; we became united as one and wanted justice to be served. As we were looking to Former President Bush for answers, the Intelligence Community was pushed to the capacity to figure out what just took place and how was to respond effectively? The country became very dependable on our media sources, they were pouring out all various types of information and questions. What countries were involved in this attack and why? How can we help the United States feel safe again? What was the purpose and message behind this attack? Where there any information given beforehand to the Intelligence Community? Was this attack intentional? Or is it preventable? Where do we go from here?






          The attacks of September 11, 2001 were intentional and preventive.
