I am Mark Palmer. I was born in Detroit, I am 18 years old, I love music, and I plan to go into Nursing and then furthering my career into Anesthesia.
I was born June 14, 1994 and was the only child all the way up until November 15, 2005. I moved around a lot when I was in Elementary, Middle, and High School. When I first started school, I attended F.L.I.C.S. Elementary School. ( Foreign Language Immerson Cultural Studies). There were four total languages: French, Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish. What made this school stand out from other schools was that not only do you have the regular elementary school naptimes and classes, but your parents get to assign you a particular language to be in. Unfortunately, I moved and was pulled out of the school after finishing my 3rd grade year. In the 4th and 5th grade I started at Taylor Schools and went to McDowell Elementary School and once again I moved to where I am currently, Southgate. I have lived in Southgate ever since then.
In the 6th grade, I was starting middle school and this was where I truly discovered my love for music. I wanted to go into percussion head first but I had to wait until my 7th grade year to audition for percussion. I chose the clarinet, a random instrument, just to stay in the music class and to learn how to read music either way. I made it into percussion in the 7th grade and was in it all the way through my Senior year of High School.
When my Freshman Year of High School started, it was a really big step for me. I also joined Marching Band. I did Marching Band my full 4 years of High School playing the Bass Drum. My dream was to go into the Music Industry and be able to produce music for artists and then I realized my Sophomore Year that it was an extremely difficult field to get into. I had a “Plan B” which was my second favorite thing to do, nursing. My mother has been a nurse for about 7 years now.
