Should the United States use Capital Punishment? (outline)

This is a question that can mean different things to different people, It can mean the end of a long wait for closer or it can mean the end of the road to prove guilt or innocents, depending on which side of the isle your standing, this is a passion that has divided our nation.
Capital Punishment, a statement by Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States, stated the following in his 2006 book, The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream:
"While the evidence tells me that the death penalty does little to deter crime, I believe there are some crimes- mass murder, the rape and murder of a child- so heinous, so beyond the pale, that the community is justified in expressing the full measure of its outrage by meting out the ultimate punishment." (2006 Barack Obama)
There are pro and cons to every issue and this one is no different. Today I am going to site some pros and cons about capital punishment and by then end of the debate I will tell you how I feel about it.
1. Topic-Using Capital Punishment as a crime deterrent.
a. Pro-It saves lives. One pro for capital punishment is that it can help saves lives as stated on Liptak (2007) “According to roughly a dozen recent studies, executions save lives. For each inmate put to death, the studies say, 3 to 18 murders are prevented.” With people who may want to commit multiple murders if they are given the capital punishment they would be unable to kill people within jails or outside of them. It also puts fear into people who may be considering committing such a crime.
b. Con- There is no credible evidence that the death penalty deters crime more effectively than long terms of...
