Banned Book Project
English II Honors
You are to choose a banned book from a pre-approved list or a book that has been approved by me, for your independent/banned book project. You may check out a book from the school library, public library, purchase from a book store, or have an electronic version. All books must be approved by Mr. Tang and may not be changed after approval. Please choose carefully.
You will complete a 2 part project on your book. Some class time will be allotted for reading, but for the most part, this is an at home assignment and should be worked on every night. You are expected to have your book with you each day in class. Due to the rigor of the assignment, additional English homework will be minimal.

Below are the criteria for the responses. Entries should be 10-12 sentences each. Each entry should include the piece of text in quotations with the pager number you’re reacting to. You will need a total of 20 entries to earn full credit.
Text-to-self: how does this piece of text relate to yourself?
Text-to-world: how does this piece of text relate to the world (views/perspectives)?
Text-to-text: how does this piece of text relate to another book you have read?
*Unacceptable responses: “I liked this book because it is so cool and the ending made me feel happy,” or “I hated it because it was stupid, and had nothing at all to do with my life, and was too negative and boring.”
