ASSIGNMENT: RESTAURANT BUSINESS
I have had the opportunity to travel to a few places around Africa and the world. Dining when it comes to foreign countries is my most favorite part because you never know what to expect. When I was 23 years old, my father and I took a trip to Durban, South Africa. Durban is the largest city in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal and the third largest city in the country, forming part of the eThekwini metropolitan municipality. Durban is famous as the busiest port in South Africa and is also a major center of tourism because of the city's warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches. The city has a population of almost 3.5 million, making Durban the biggest city on the east coast of the African continent.
Despite the fact that Durban has beautiful beaches and it is an amazing tourist destination, it is widely also known for its cuisines. I had the pleasure of eating at the Havana grill and wine bar. Havana Grill is a world class grill room and an ultimate destination for the meat & seafood lover. Situated at the Sun coast Casino & Entertainment World on Durban’s' Golden mile the restaurant boasts magnificent 180 degree views from the Bluff to Umhlanga Rocks.
Havana Grill & Wine bar is all about Food, Wine and Vibe. They use only SA Grainfed Super Beef, which is hung on the rail for 21 days to age.The extensive wine list features some of the better and well known Estates in South Africa and they regularly visit Estates to select the best vintages available. The steak is specially aged and prepared to perfection every time; from bleu for the connoisseurs to medium for the not so brave! The seafood selection includes some of the finest King Prawns, Langoustines and Baby Crayfish; and extravagant platters to feed your sole. Mozambique Coconut & Chilli Baby Chicken is a popular choice in their poultry section.
