Although you might not know it, but there are a lot of different types of disease you can get. Sometimes it’s by sexual contact, blood transfusion, or hereditary. Sometimes the body’s physical and chemical barriers protect the body from disease. When your body is not strong enough to fight the disease on its own that’s when you need to start taking medication to help at least control it. Some medications will help the body destroy the disease but some can only control it.
Sexually transmitted diseases are caused by infections that are passed from one person to another by sexual contact. There are many kinds of sexually transmitted diseases and they are very common. Gonorrhea is a STD. For males the symptoms are a white discharge from the urethra and burning while urinating. Females on the other hand have a discharge from the vagina and some swelling and redness in the genital area. Some STD’s don’t show any symptoms what so ever. For example most females have no symptoms and don’t know they are infected with gonorrhea. Chlamydia is another kind of STD. For some females the symptoms may be the pelvic pain and a discharge from the vagina. Again usually females might not have any symptoms. The males have almost the same symptoms as having gonorrhea except for the white discharge. The point is that so many people have diseases. Most people have no idea they have a sexually transmitted disease. That is the reason you should always be careful who you are sleeping with. Condoms are a great way to stay safe but they are not 100% accurate. An excellent way to stay STD free is by abstinence.
There are additional risks that one must consider when having a blood transfusion. The risks must be weighed against the health concerns that can be cause by a lack of blood or blood cells, such as anemia and hypovolemia.
