Diversity is to appreciate and value individual differences, establishing heterogeneous workforce (including white men) to perform to its potential in an equitable work environment where no member or group of members has an advantage or a disadvantage, this is intended to maximize the productivity, creativity, and commitment of the workforce while meeting the needs of diverse consumer groups. Diversity is a business imperative (Procter & Gamble). There is no way to achieve our business strategy unless we develop and utilize diversity in the marketplace to achieve competitive advantage around the world. Just a decade ago all of our operations were located at U.S and Mexico. Now our main production operations are located outside of the United States in different regions of the globe”, production operations are locate in Asia. As some companies are beginning to realize, employing a workforce that mirrors the customers is one step in the right direction. What is clear now is that use of work teams can facilitate the pursuit of quality and the drive for innovation. According to Cascio (2006, p.119) managing diversity means aiming for a 'heterogeneous workforce' that is capable of achieving its potential in a non-discriminatory, fair and just work environment.
