Globalization is the tendency of investment funds and businesses to move beyond domestic and national markets to other markets around the globe, allowing them to become interconnected with different markets.   Some key issues associated with globalization is increased flow of skilled and non-skilled jobs from developed to developing nations as corporations seek out the cheapest labor.   Another issue associated with globalization is increased likelihood of economic disruptions in one nation effecting all nations.   An additional issue is the threat of world media control by a few corporations will limit cultural expression.   The reactions to globalization is also an issue because corporations that want to preserve cultural heritage may become violent.   Another issue is diseases being transported unintentionally   between nations.   Globalization may increase the chances of civil war within developing countries and open war between developing countries as they compete for resources.   Lastly, globalization may decrease in environmental integrity as polluting corporations take advantage of weak regulatory rules in developing countries.   The advantages and disadvantages of globalization have been heavily debated in recent years.   Proponents of globalization say that it helps developing nations catch up to industrialized nations much faster through increased employment and technological advances.   Critics of globalization say that it weakens national sovereignty and allows rich nations to ship domestic jobs overseas where labor is much cheaper.
Two other constructs that are driving some far-reaching social, political, and economic issues that affect 'business' and 'societies' are glocalization and grobalization.   Glocalization is a term that was invented in order to emphasize that the globalization of a product is more likely to succeed when the product or service is adapted specifically to each area or culture it is marketed in.   The term combines the word "Globalization"...
