How to Develop Self-Confidence
What is confidence? According to Merriam-Webster it is defined as follows: a feeling or consciousness of one's powers or of reliance on one's circumstances; faith or belief that one will act in a right, proper, or effective way. Confidence can be a noun and adjective. So confidence describes a quality you may possess. It is a quality that everyone can have, but not everyone knows how to use it. How to develop self-confidence? This is a term that is sometimes easily mistaken for being conceited, but they do not have the same definition. There was a time in my life when I did not have self-confidence, in which gave me low self-esteem. If you want to know about anything in life, you can use the internet. I actually searched on the internet; how to develop confidence. There are so many people with so many answers and I decided to form my own list of tools. Being assertive, positive, and fearless and do a self-evaluation are tools to assist with development of self-confidence, to name a few. There are several different ways to develop self-confidence, but these are the ones that caught my attention.
When approaching any situation have an assertive attitude. Any situation that occurs has causes for a person to have a certain type attitude. First, you must be ready to face the problem with an assertive attitude. Be strong-minded when achieving a goal or with any disagreement. For an example, you decide to go to back to school; be assertive. Being assertive will give you the confidence you need to succeed in school. Stand strong on what decisions you make.
You often hear the phrase “stay positive.” Positive attitude about any situation will help give you the outcome you want. A negative attitude can actually make a situation worst in my opinion.
