Nationalism is an idea of an nation which has been viewed in many different ways throughout the world. Nationalism can lead to hatred   among country which can cause war and conflict. Because of this nationalism has proven itself a defining force of the world's current events.

      Just like shown in the source. The source shows a man holding a flag saying "NATIONALISM" with people following him in perfect array, as if without question. Many views can be taken can taken from this like how people can be blind when it comes to nationalism or how committed people are to risk dying for nationalism, somewhat patriotic. Whatever the case, nationalism is a reason to fight for but must have knowledge to avoid blindly following the nation.

      An interpretation of the source could be the negative force of nationalism as it shows how nationalistic values and beliefs can blind sight that individuals ability to make his own decisions and just does whatever he or she thinks is best for their country even if it means sacrificing his common sense. For example in the French Revolution the common people of the Third Estate followed Robespierre who was a predominant leader of the revolution   to defy the institutions of the time. Fighting for their idea of a nation ruled by the common people rather than the ruling nobility. In this time many people bought into the idea of revolution that all the excess violence and casualties caused by the revolution was justified by their idea of nation and revolution. Most People started to question the revolution, but the leaders of the revolution didn't like this so as a result those people that questioned got killed.  

      During world war two, Adolf Hitler was an very influential leader in Germany and many of the citizens admired and respected him for his promises towards his nation. Hitler and the Nazis promised the people of Germany, that they will restore honour and prosperity back to the way it was before world war one and...
