The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a prestigious organization that selects student members from junior high school based on academic skills and community service. NJHS helps kids build leadership skills, learn responsibility, and builds character. All these things are necessary to help a student become a better person and a better citizen. For students that are accepted, NJHS raises both their self-esteem and makes them more determined to keep excel in school work. NJHS exposes students to new ideas and challenges them to work harder and help others. NJHS helps a student meet both their long-term and short-term goals. It also gets the student ready for high school and college.
The reason I want to join NJHS is to make myself a better student, to help the community around me, and ultimately to make me a better person. Right now I am a good student but I have had limited exposure to outside activities to help my community. NJHS would open new doors to community service activities. I really would like to help others around me other than myself. I enjoy working with other people on projects and enjoy being challenged to come up with new ideas that would improve the world around me. Finally, NJHS membership would make my family even more proud of me.
Some qualities that best describe me are hard-working, fun, cooperative, and very easy going. I enjoy taking charge when in groups but I also can follow directions and be open to other people’s ideas. These qualities could help the NJHS chapter in many ways. As a team player I am very focused and work hard until projects are 100% complete. I believe that my qualities would be a good representation of what a NJHS member should be. As a NJHS member, I would set a good example to my fellow students and teachers.
