Summary of Session:
Michael arrived as scheduled. The client had physical appearances conducive with appropriateness and normality (appropriate dress attire).
Michael began the session by explaining that he was grateful he did not act on his previous feelings of wanting to leave treatment. Michael explained that he understood how important it was that he did not listen to the addiction or addict. Michael explained that he has listen to the addict in himself in the past numerous times and had negative results. Michael explained that he was committed to staying the entire length of his scheduled treatment plan, and was open to any further plans. Michael expressed his concern with his level of pain that he has been dealing with due to his old football injury. Michael inquired about having more pain management therapy sessions in hopes of lessening the pain levels. Michael explained that the sessions were working for him in relieving his pain.
Change in Needs:
Reevaluation of Michael’s pain management sessions to include an increased in frequency.
Progress towards Tx. Goals:
Michael has had great steps in progress towards his goal of completion. Michael has self-recognition in his addiction or addict behaviors and has shown growth in his ability to cope. Michael has been able to recognize his influence of drug use due to pain. Michael has openly shared with the group and through one-on-one therapy.
To continue his pain management sessions as well as continued his growth and knowledge of recovery through reading and participation.
