Human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings mainly for the purposes of sexual exploitation. Human trafficking is a big problem in our world today. “Human trafficking is considered to be one of the fastest growing criminal industries in the world. (http://www.polarisproject.org)” There are two different types of human trafficking, there is labor trafficking and sex trafficking. Labor trafficking is when a person is forced to work manually against their own will, they also do not get paid for their work. Sex trafficking is when a person is forced against their will to do sexual acts for money. The money how ever does not belong to them it goes to their “trafficker”.
Sex trafficking is the topic I will focus in on. Sex trafficking effects political, economical, and socially in today’s world. In this paper you will read about sex trafficking and how it works and where it happens. Someone does not just sign up to be a part of sex trafficking, they are fooled or abducted. Sex trafficking includes men, women, and children as young as 12. The adults or children are threaten to do these sexual acts they have no choice. They may get rewarded with food after they have done their job but they will never get money from their “pimps”. You may ask why havens this stopped? Well sex trafficking is almost impossible to stop, the people who are being trafficked are from around the world. These people are either to afraid to speak up or they end up dying from diseases from the sex trafficking. You may also ask why should I care? Clear and simple you should care because it’s going on right here in the United States!
