My paper was to entail a site visit discussing cognitive behavioral techniques that the particular agency uses, however I had to redirect to a phone interview. I interviewed a Nurse at a short term treatment facility located in Butner NC. The problem I had with this interview is that people are reluctant to speak with you about their organization over the telephone so it took ample attempts to find someone at an agency in such short notice to speak with me, especially on a week end. This particular nurse named Ms. P. Miller, she was even nice enough to give me her provider number., only after I reassured her that I was just a student who had been given an assignment, where as I needed to learn different techniques to implement when I too start to work in the field. Although she did not speak with me very long. It is amazing that when people assume you are ignorant to a fact how they are wiling to show their intelligence. I spoke with her in regard to the treatment facility which she worked at. Ms. Miller expressed her disappointment in the treatment facility and its regiment of treatment as well as its aftercare treatment, as I will display as you read? According to her,” the program uses motivational interviewing, formulating treatment plans with the client so that the client can recognize triggers and to learn coping skills to deal with triggers.” The populations that participate in the program are men and women. Now this particular program is a 60 bed residence, and the length of stay is 2 weeks. Each time I would ask a question, she would respond by saying “you can Google it”. But as we know, that in some cases the information that you retrieve on the net related to describe a place is more glorification.
There is a multidisciplinary team that provides, as well as presents the program interventions. That particular team consists of the Doctor, Nurse, Social...
