In sociology, anthropology and cultural studies , a   subculture   is   a   group   of people   within   a   culture (whether distinct or hidden)   which   differentiates   them   from   the   larger culture to which they belong. The   study   of subcultures often consists of the study of symbolism attached to clothing , music and other   visible   affectations   by   members   of   subcultures, and also the ways in which these same symbols are interpreted   by   members   of the dominant   culture. Members of a subculture often signal their membership through a distinctive and symbolic use of style, which includes fashions , mannerisms, and argot (a secret language   used by various groups to prevent   outsiders   from   understanding   their conversations).
If   we   look   closely   at   one   British , one   American   and   one   Serbian   newspaper (The Guardian, The   New   York Times   and   Blic ) we can found many articles that deal   with at least one   subculture.   I   took   a close at   those newspapers   from Saturday, November 10, 2012 and concluded the following: The Guardian mentions   Syrian rebels, Republicans, Greeks ,   Turkish troops, female bishops,   homeless people, Sri Lanka prisoners, Liberals, Gay couples, Cricket players, Football   players, Rugby players ; The New York Times mentions   wealthy people, Christian   conservatives, Chinese, Japanese, French victims of war, military leaders in Russia, Palestinians, Canadian mayors,   Californian Democrats, migrants; Blic mentions :   Republicans, actors, basketball players, football players, tennis players.
All   these   groups are mentioned   more or less   politically correctly since those newspapers are serious and objective and they respect   all groups equally. I have to admit...
