Catalog Description: This is the first course in a two-semester sequence of intermediate algebra and trigonometry with technical applications.   Topics include units of measurement and dimensional analysis, fundamental concepts of algebra, functions and graphs, systems of linear equations, the trigonometric functions, right triangle trigonometry and applications, vectors, graphs of sinusoidal curves, complex numbers, and quadratic functions.   A scientific calculator will be used throughout the course.

Evaluation: Your average for the course will be based on the following:   You may redo all homework as many times as wish. Quizzes can be taken up to 3 times. Exams can be taken twice

You must achieve a 70% or better to move on to the next section. Individual examinations are not scaled. At the end of the semester the student overall progress is evaluated and a slight adjustment to the average may be made. Under no circumstances can a student expect a grade more than one grade above his/her average and a student with an average of 55 or less should consider withdrawing from the course

Attendance Policy
