Speaking of the most memorable place, my first reaction is Tibet. Three years ago, I just graduated from junior high school and joined the High School Students Aiding Tibet Plan organized by my School and the local Red Cross Society. The journey to Tibet made me realize the importance of keeping a placid soul in the modern material and impulsive society. People in Tibet always keep the pure and innocent smile under the background of pure blue sky, which touches the heartstring of thousands of tourists. I was lucky to be one of these tourists.

When I got of the plane, I was deeply overwhelmed by the immediate landscape, the surrounding mountains and the white clouds floating in the blue sky. I felt like being in a holy temple. With the blue sky so close to me, I could not help reaching out my hand to touch the cloud nearest to me. I stood still in front the Potala Palace, closing my eyes and listening to the Buddhist chanting from the inside, which made me forget all the frustration and depression in my life. I saw the prayer flags fluttering in the wind, the benevolent old men turning prayer wheels in their hands, and the curling incense smoke above the grey tiles. I saw pilgrims kowtow every three steps and worship every five steps. They camped all along the way, through trials and hardships, but without the slightest remorse and flinch. They were fearless and persistent. There must be a divine halo over them, illuminating them all the way and making them unswerving and adamant.

My task here was to spend a pleasant summer with a local middle school student in Tibet and share with them my middle school life and culture different from them. During the two-month journey in Tibet, I was deeply shocked by the piety of local Tibetan people, who are born to be unswerving and persistent in nature.
