In eighteen years of life, I finally realize that my mom works really hard in Korea. My mom had lost father with cancer and she has been take care of three sons only by herself. I realize why my mom and brothers pushed me to work hard in school. It was important to my mom and brothers that their family not have to face struggles they faced -they wanted better life for their family. Listening to my mom telling me about how Korean people in Korea struggle through life because of poverty. This fact boosted me up to concentrate on study. I had a responsibility to live up to my potential. Even through all these struggles that my mom face each and every day, she still manages to save some money and open up a business to raise three children.
Major obstacles that I face throughout most of my life is living with my 9 years older brother only. Living with big brother only made my life more rough because I have to do all the chores at home, while maintaining good grades and also participate in water polo swimming team. But doing all the chores by myself in the home brought me skills such as how to use time wisely and how to set up the schedule. I come from a family that trains me most of time in many other ways.
My family has shaped my dreams and aspirations in life because they support and encourage me to do well in school. My grandparents always told me that I can choose whatever I want to be and do whatever I want to do, but in order to do that I have to get in to nice school for my capricious dream. My mom told me that it is hard right now, but it all pays off after college when I have a great career and a successful future ahead of me. Their tendency to encouragement made me stronger as a person. It made me believe in myself that I am capable of reaching my dreams in life. My family encourage me to choose a career that I have a passion for and do not criticize me for a career that they would like me to pursue.
